Welcome to 9LOD

Welcome to the page of 9LOD. It's been a great start to the term and we are excited to share our news with you! So far this half term we have been helping raise awareness of Remembrance day and all of those fallen. We made resources for our class and put some around the school. We shared a minute’s silence during personal development and discussed the importance and significance of not just the soldiers but also the role of animals in WW1. We also played a role in the Harvest assembly by sharing what we had learned in Geography about Harvest around the World.

We are very excited about the upcoming Christmas show and confident we are going to be able to pull off an impressive performance by including cheerleading, instruments and performance! We won’t give anything more away just yet!

Recent Highlights - Autumn 1 

In personal development we were played out scenarios about peer pressure. This was our theme for the half term. The class really engaged in discussion about all the various ways you can experience peer pressure. In Geography we have been looking at various different climates and their biomes and how people are able to adapt to extreme weather conditions. In history the class were looking at World War 1 and how it began and its consequences for a range of countries. In RE the pupils enjoyed learning about Rites of passage and in particular comparing  a Christian and a Muslim wedding.
