Welcome to 7MC
Hello everyone, and a very warm welcome to 7MC's class page!
We have registration every morning until 9:15. During this form time we run through the daily timetable, routines and reminders. Pupils can have a breakfast snack and from 9am onwards we enjoy some quiet reading time.
We have two sessions of ‘Personal Development’ each week (Tue and Fri). In these sessions, we work a variety of important life skills. This half-term, we are focussing on settling into our new school and making social connections and improving our communication skills. We spend a significant amount of time in Personal Development working with our friends in 7JN.
Ultimately, Personal Development supports pupils in becoming respectful, confident, and empathetic individuals. It helps them to develop the interpersonal tools they need to navigate a wide range of social settings—at school, at home, and in the wider world.
Cookery is something our pupils look forward to every Wednesday, so far we have enjoyed making cous cous and chicken wraps together before taking them home to share with our families!
PE takes place twice a week on a Tuesday and Thursday, pupils take part in a range of activities with a focus on developing skills and teamwork. Autumn Term starts with Football.
Pupils have greatly enjoyed exploring a range of instruments since starting Crosby High School. Our Music room contains drums, keyboards, djembe drums alongside a wide range of percussion instruments. At the start of Year 7 pupils are introduced to new musical terminology such as pitch, rhythm and tempo and how to demonstrate them across a range of instruments.
Science experiments involving paper chromatography and ice cubes have made this an exciting lesson for pupils! Each week pupils go to the Science labs for their lessons and enjoy putting on lab coats and goggles as they arrive.
Our staff team are very much looking forward to working with families as our pupils work hard to complete their first year here at Crosby High.
